Deactivating a Facebook account allows users to temporarily disable their profile without permanently deleting it. This is useful if you want to take a break from social media but still retain your data for future use.

To deactivate your Facebook account, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Facebook account.
  2. Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner and select Settings & Privacy, then choose Settings.
  3. In the left-hand menu, go to Privacy and click on Your Facebook Information.
  4. Look for Deactivation and Deletion and click View.
  5. Select Deactivate Account and click Continue to Account Deactivation.
  6. Follow the prompts to confirm your deactivation.

Your profile will be hidden, but you can reactivate it anytime by logging back in.
